GOTR of WNC Ambassadors are representatives of and networkers for Girls on the Run in a variety of ways throughout our community. Our organization is often invited to participate in events and speak to groups, but with limited staff time/resources, it is not always possible. We ask our GOTR Ambassadors to be the presence and voice of GOTR to help build and strengthen community partnerships and reach more people (especially girls and their families) with our mission.
As a non-profit, we rely on individual and business support to keep our life-enhancing program available to all WNC girls. The more people we have asking for support for GOTR, the easier it is to meet our fundraising needs. We have materials available for GOTR Ambassadors who are comfortable and willing to approach potential sponsors and donors on our behalf.
Whether you can give one hour or 100 hours of your time, every minute will make a significant impact in the lives of over 1,000 WNC girls each year!
Girls on the Run of WNC is an independent, non-profit council of Girls on the Run International and is governed by a 12-member Board of Directors. New Board Members are elected annually in June, and the commitment is a 2-year term beginning in July. Click here to review our Board Commitment and Responsibilities to better understand the requirements.
If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, please complete the online GOTR of WNC Board Application. Click here to download a Word document with the list of application questions, in case you prefer to type your answers and paste them into the online application. You will be asked to provide three references, and you may also provide your current resume. If nominated, you are required to complete a background check.
