Take a look at the Fall 2017 Session Calendar for important dates.
Site Liaisons must submit the site application. The Fall 2017 site application for returning sites was due on June 1. If you are a returning site and have missed the deadline, or if you are a new site, please contact Stephanie at firstname.lastname@example.org or 828-713-3132.
The Site Liaison, Head Coaches, & Assistant Coaches need to complete the online application:
GOTR Poster (coming soon)
GOTR Postcard (coming soon)
Heart & Sole Information Sheet - Word/PDF (coming soon)
*Unless your site specifies different dates on your site application, participant registration for Fall 2017 is September 5-14. Team Sizes are LIMITED. Registration for all teams will be by LOTTERY, with priority given to registrants previously waitlisted. The last day to register will be Thursday 9/14, and the lottery will be processed on Friday 9/15. All registrants will be notified on Friday 9/15 of their status (on the team or waitlist).*
PLEASE NOTE: We no longer offer the option of paper-only sites. All sites will offer online registration to participants. If a participant does not have access to a computer to register, paper forms can be distributed on a case-by-case basis. Site liaisons will then be responsible for entering the participant's registration online before the lottery is run on Thursday 9/14 at noon.
Each session, we compile the known socioeconomic & race data for the public schools that are hosting the program. Once registration is completed, we are able to review if we are serving an equal representation of our sites' actual makeup. To help us all have an awareness of this important goal, you can review our GOTRWNC Sites & Makeups list to consider when recruiting and registering participants.
Please update these calendars using your site's lesson days in conjunction with your site's calendar, taking into account teacher workdays, holidays, spring break, etc, then distribute along with the Welcome Letter to your coaches & team. The session calendar is abbreviated but includes coach/site important dates. The Participant calendars are more detailed to include lesson names & learning goals.
