Who can participate in Girls on the Run/Track?

Our program is open to girls of ALL fitness levels and abilities. Girls on the Run is for 3rd-5th graders. Girls on Track is for 6th-8th graders.

What are the dates for spring 2013 registration?

Participant registrations will be accepted at participating sites from January 21-February 22. Visit the Locations page for Site Liaison (registration coordinator) contact information. The spring 2013 session begins the week of February 18 and runs for 12 weeks through the week of May 13th. Our spring 5K event will be Saturday, May 18th, 10am at Fletcher Community Park.

How can I sign up my child?

Registration for the spring 2013 session opens January 21.  Registration forms are available at each program site and/or by contacting your Site Liaison to pick up a form, or you may print a form from a link below. Please return your registration form and signed Health History Form to the Site Liaison no later than February 22nd. Team size is limited to 20 girls, and registration is on first-come, first-serve basis.

What is the cost of the program?

The full cost to Girls on the Run of WNC to provide the program to a girl is $125. We have set up a sliding scale fee structure based on family income, to make the program available to all girls.

Family Income – Fee

  • Greater than $50,000 – $125
  • $30,000-49,999 – $95
  • $20,000-29,999 – $65
  • Less than $19,999 – $30

Included in the fee price are:

  • 12 weeks and 24 lessons conducted by trained, CPR/FA certified and background checked GOTR coaches
  • Healthy snacks at each lesson
  • Lesson handouts and materials
  • A Girls on the Run t-shirt & water bottle
  • Registration for the Girls on the Run 5k event at the end of session
  • A medal and goody bag at the 5K event
  • End of season certificates and awards
  • Liability Insurance for program participants and coaches

My daughter’s school is not a participating site, what can I do?

Ladies Workout Express is offering a community Girls on the Run (3rd-5th grades) program on Tuesdays and Thursdays from  4:15-5:30. Call (828)298-4667 or stop by the gym for more information (802 Fairview Rd, Asheville). Click here to register online.
