Current Season Details

Registration for Camp GOTR 2023 is now open!

Camp will be hosted at Christmount Christian Assembly in Black Mountain, July 24th - 28th.

This year's theme is "Girls Have Power". Throughout the week, girls will explore the power they have to recognize and respond to their own emotions and emotions in others. Girls will build, create, write, discuss, connect, and laugh all while participating in games and activities that will leave them feeling confident and appreciated by their teammates.

This is the third year GOTR WNC has offered Camp GOTR and it is made possible through our partnership with Christmount Christian assembly and Camp Brooke. Camp Brooke is named after Brooke Schneitman, a former Christmount Summer Staff member and beloved camp counselor for Christmount's Middle-School Girls Camp. After her passing in 2009, Christmount honored her by renaming their Middle School Girls Camp to Camp Brooke in 2010. In 2020, Christmount reimagined Camp Brooke through a collaborative partnership with Girls on the Run WNC to offer Camp GOTR / Camp Brooke.

Ma fille n’est pas une grande coureuse. Est-ce que ce programme lui conviendra? OU Ma fille est déjà une coureuse expérimentée. Est-ce que ce programme lui conviendra?

My girl isn't a big runner; is this program for her? OR My girl is already a skilled runner. Is this program for her?

Yes! We are much more than a running program, and every participant can benefit from the experience of building confidence through accomplishment while participating in our rich, curriculum-based, age-appropriate, interactive lessons. Expect lots of games, talking, laughing and processing in addition to running at each practice. And know that when we say run, we mean run, walk, skip, roll or push, just as long as you are moving foward!

What does the camp fee include?

Through generous donors we're able to offer a full week, full day summer camp for $200. Your camp registration fee includes all lesson materials, including GOTR curriculum, a Camp GOTR t-shirt, water bottle and bracelet, healthy snacks and lunch daily, and Camp Brooke afternoon sessions.

We can't afford the program registration fee, but our child would love to participate. How does the scholarship program work?

Don't let cost stop you from participating! We are committed to making Girls on the Run accessible to all who want to particpate! Thanks to generous donors and community supporters, program scholarships are available to any family who needs it, and we can also provide appropriate running shoes and attire if necessary. The online registration form will walk you through a few questions to find the fee that is right for your family based on a sliding scale.

Is there a way for me to sponsor a girl?

Yes! As a mission-driven 501(c)3, Girls on the Run relies on generous donors in order to provide more than $30,000 in program scholarships for families in need. Click here to sponsor a girl.

Where is Camp GOTR hosted?

We are thrilled to work with Christmount Christian Assembly in Black Mountain as the site for Camp GOTR.

My GOTR Girl is older than a 5th grader, is there a camp program for older girls?

At this time we only offer Camp GOTR for grades rising 3 -5. If your girl wants to be involved with Girls on the Run, we suggest supporting a Heart & Sole season at her school or a community site. Click here for more information on Heart & Sole.
